Arts Administration Internship

Orlando Sings, established in 2021, seeks up to two (2) interns interested in gaining real-world arts administration experience with a professional nonprofit performing arts organization. We are looking for energetic candidates with high integrity, positive attitude, strong work ethic, the capacity to learn quickly, and high intrinsic motivation. Designed as a resume-building and service-learning opportunity, Arts Administration Interns will gain hands-on experience working with Artistic and Executive Director Dr. Andrew Minear and other members of the Orlando Sings staff.

The primary role of an Arts Administration Intern is to assist in the ongoing operations of the nonprofit, including work in the areas of box office management, communications, concert planning and execution, development (fundraising), marketing, member relations, volunteer coordination, etc.

By the conclusion of the internship, we hope Arts Administration Interns will have achieved real objectives in service of the Orlando Sings mission, while gaining deeper understanding and skills for themselves.

The internship term is the full 2022-2023 season, though fall 2022 or spring 2023 semester-length terms may be negotiated depending on availability. It is possible for one of the selected interns to complete this internship working remotely if they live outside of greater Orlando.

The average weekly time commitment is 5 hours; some weekend and evening work is required. Arts Administration Interns report to the Artistic and Executive Director.

Arts Administration Internships are unpaid positions. Upon successful completion of the internship term, participants will receive an Orlando Sings Certificate and a letter of recommendation from Dr. Andrew Minear suitable for job or graduate school applications.
