Yani Araujo

Yani Araujo is an active soloist and ensemble artist in the Central Florida area. He made his debut with Solaria singing Timothy Takach’s Helios in 2022. He has sung in a number of concerts and events around the greater Orlando area with Solaria and other ensembles. Other engagements include concerts with the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, the Villages Philharmonic, the Bel Canto Singers of Daytona, and the Breakthrough Theatre.

Yani is also a conductor and loves to stand on the podium in front of an orchestra as well as a chorus. He is always looking for more opportunities to direct when he can, and he hopes to pursue a master’s degree in conducting in the near future. Yani has had the honor and pleasure of training under the tutelage of several gifted teachers and mentors, such as Dr. Sinclair and Jamey Ray at Rollins college, and Kevin Harris, an active clinician and talented choral technician in the Orlando area. He has conducted the Rollins Choir and Orchestra, as well as the Choirs at the National Shrine of Mary Queen of the Universe, First United Methodist Church of Winter Park, and some choral and instrumental ensembles formed for weddings and other personal engagements.

Yani also enjoys feeding his soul as a recording artist, having offered backup vocals and voice over work for today’s talented independent artists and choral music publishers, as well as creating his own works. Yani is a composer and arranger and has written music that has been published by Excelcia Music Publishing. In 2017, Yani edited and engraved a piece of music that had not been performed since its composition in the 18th century. This edition was chosen by the Moravian Music Foundation for publication and is now available for sale on the Foundation’s website.

Outside of western art music, Yani loves singing and listening to jazz, a capella, and Brazilian music with his father and his friends. He also loves rock climbing and connecting with nature, as well as playing and snuggling with his dog, Monkey. Yani holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Rollins College, having focused in vocal performance and conducting. He aims to work in TV and film and to inspire future generations to experience and fall in love with art the way that he has.
